|
Given the increased attention to reducing or eliminating health disparities among racially/ethnically diverse older adults, this paper reviews recent trends of aging and mental health disparities research conducted in the United States. This review paper provides an overview of theoretical frameworks for health disparities research, as well as issues relating to disparities in mental health care and mental health status among older adults. The authors also discuss available secondary data sets for aging and health disparities research. Implications and future directions for Korean aging and health disparities research are discussed.
